Softball Recap: Burleson Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Burleson dropped their record down to 21-6 on Thursday, which also ended the team's eight-game streak of wins at home. They lost 16-4 to the Joshua Owls. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Elks, who until this contest were averaging 3.22 runs allowed.

Addy Sellers was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. Kaydan Dorman also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

As for Joshua, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-11. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by eight runs or more this season.

On Joshua's side, they got a massive performance out of Leilanie Sam, who fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-3. Those two home runs gave Sam a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Zaylee Masters, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, one run, and one double.

As of now, neither Burleson nor Joshua have any future games scheduled.
