Basketball Game Preview: Banning Broncos vs. South El Monte Eagles

The Banning Broncos will head out on the road to square off against the South El Monte Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Banning comes in on four and South El Monte on seven.

Banning is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They blew past Maricopa 58-33. The Broncos have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Among those leading the charge was Franky Salazar, who posted six points.

Meanwhile, South El Monte made easy work of Orange on Friday and carried off a 49-29 win.

South El Monte's win came from a few key players Banning will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Tony Aguilar, who almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine boards. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last seven games he's played. Nathan Oros was another key player, going 5-for-10 to rack up 12 points and seven rebounds.

South El Monte pushed their record up to 13-15 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.4 points over those games. As for Banning, their win bumped their record up to 18-8.
