Baseball Recap: Bangor Takes a Loss

Bangor fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Lawton on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 15-11 to the Blue Devils. The Vikings' loss continues a trend for the team, making it five in a row.

Jaret McCoy was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with seven stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Bangor's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 8-3-1 (and 1-9 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Carson Pullins, who went 2-for-4 with five stolen bases and three runs.

Bangor's defeat dropped their record down to 9-12-1. As for Lawton, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-7 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bangor will host Lawrence at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lawton, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Bloomingdale at 4:30 p.m.
