Softball Recap: North Posey Comes Up Short

If North Posey was riding high fresh off their 17-1 takedown of Princeton on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Vikings fell just short of the Heritage Hills Patriots by a score of 6-4 on Monday. Vikings fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Patriots since on Monday.

Lily Hester made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

North Posey's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-4. As for Heritage Hills, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Posey will welcome Gibson Southern at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Heritage Hills, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Evansville North at 5:00 p.m. The Huskies will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Patriots surely won't give up without a fight.
