Softball Recap: Pleasant Comes Up Short

Pleasant extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 2-9 in the process. They lost 9-2 to the Ontario Warriors. The Spartans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Faith Staley made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

As for Ontario, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games.

On Ontario's side, Eden Howard was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). Howard was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lillian Gray, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Morgan Pearson, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one double.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Ontario beat Pleasant by a score of 10-3 on Wednesday.
