Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only South Johnston walked away with it. They never let the Richlands Wildcats get on the board and left with  a   5-0  win  on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Trojans sure are getting used to it with their 22nd in a row.
 Ava Strickland made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run while striking out eight over eight innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  a single  earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-3 with one  home run and two  RBI.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Lannah Price, who  went 1-for-3 with two  stolen bases, one  run,  and one  RBI.  Olivia Crumpler was another key player,  going 2-for-4 with one  run, one  double,  and one  RBI.
South Johnston's victory was  their ninth straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 22-1. Those  road  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for Richlands, their defeat  ended  an  11-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 20-6.
 South Johnston has already played their next contest,  a  5-0  victory against Southern Nash on the 16th. Richlands does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
