Recap: Richard Montgomery Rockets vs. Cardozo Clerks
After a string of four wins, the Richard Montgomery Rockets's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 60-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cardozo. While losing is never fun, Richard Montgomery can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 33rd in Maryland, while Cardozo is ranked fifth in District of Columbia).
It was another big night for Joell Young, who scored 23 points along with four steals for Cardozo. Young is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Wisdom Carter, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds.
Richard Montgomery's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Cardozo, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Richard Montgomery's road trip will continue as they head out to face Springbrook on January 5, 2024. Cardozo won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Lake Taylor at 7:00 p.m. on December 29th. Lake Taylor is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
