Softball Recap: Thursday's Victory Is Baldwin's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

Baldwin gave up the first runs on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against the Nease Panthers by a score of 6-1.

Raven Watson was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Izabella Screws, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Baldwin has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Nease, they moved to 6-8 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Baldwin will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Oakleaf at 6:00 p.m. on the 15th. As for Nease, they will face off against Sandalwood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Saints have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season.
