Football Recap: Friday's Loss Ends Lexington's Winning Streak + How To Watch

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Lexington couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They lost 45-21 to the East Bernard Brahmas on Friday. Despite 210 more yards than the Brahmas, the Eagles couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Loss or not, Lexington got some senior leadership from Weston Bayer and Kase Evans. Bayer picked up 101 receiving yards and one score, while Evans threw for 226 yards and three touchdowns.

Even if they lost, Lexington's defensive line still kept up the pressure with eight sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Jason Cargill and Peyton Stevens, who racked up four sacks between them. Cargill also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 14. Lexington got some further help from Gabe Turner: he picked up a sack and made eight total tackles.

Dominic Munoz was nothing short of spectacular for East Bernard: he rushed for 52 yards and a pair of TDs, and also picked up 46 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Lexington moved to 10-2-1 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for East Bernard, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-4.

Lexington does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for East Bernard, they have already played their next game, a 34-31 victory against Tidehaven on the 5th.
