Basketball Game Preview: South Central Timberwolves vs. Satanta Indians

The South Central Timberwolves are taking a road trip to square off against the Satanta Indians at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (South Central has ten straight victories, Satanta has nine straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

South Central will head into Tuesday's game hoping to keep the good times rolling: they had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 41-point drubbing they dealt Bucklin on Tuesday. South Central blew past Bucklin, posting a 69-28 win. The Timberwolves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Satanta took a blow against South Gray on Saturday, falling 78-40. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 307th, while the Rebels are ranked 66th).

South Central pushed their record up to 10-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.8 points per game. As for Satanta, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.

Everything came up roses for South Central against Satanta when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as the team secured a 67-40 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for South Central since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
