Basketball Recap: Saginaw Takes a Loss

Saginaw and Argyle squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Saginaw had to settle for second. They were dealt an 88-22 loss at the hands of the Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Rough Riders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 386th, while the Eagles are ranked ninth).

Despite the defeat, Saginaw saw an underclassman step up: freshman Brooklyn Monroe posted 13 points.

Saginaw is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-16. As for Argyle, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 29-5 record this season.

As of now, neither Saginaw nor Argyle have any future games scheduled.
