Baseball Recap: East Rowan Extends Winning Streak to Six

East Rowan came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with five straight wins dating back to last season (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 13-8 win over the Mooresville Blue Devils. The Mustangs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Blue Devils, too.

Harrison Ailshie made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in May of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

In other pitching news, Brady Ailshie looked comfortable as he pitched 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Braylen Ketchie, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Hunter Goodman, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

East Rowan's record is now 2-0. As for Mooresville, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Rowan will welcome Northwest Cabarrus at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mooresville, they will be playing at home against Statesville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
