Basketball Recap: Southland Christian FLAMES vs. Osceola Kowboys
After flying high against DME Academy Gold last Thursday, Southland Christian came back down to earth. The Southland Christian FLAMES were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 75-74 to the Osceola Kowboys.
Southland Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sebastian Rivera, who went 6 of 9 from beyond the arc en route to 29 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlos Escalera Jr., who almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine rebounds.
Jordan Isaac was his usual excellent self, going 11 for 20 on his way to 28 points and three steals for Osceola. That's the most points Isaac has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Luke Mccrimon, who went 8 of 20 en route to 16 points and three steals.
Southland Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 20-3. As for Osceola, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 21-3.
Southland Christian will square off against The Rock at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in The Rock's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 16 matches. Osceola does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
