Softball Game Preview: Westlake Lions vs. Tri-Cities Bulldogs

The Westlake Lions will venture away from home to square off against the Tri-Cities Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

It was a proper cat-fight when Westlake duked it out with Alexander on Thursday. The Lions lost 18-3 to the Cougars.

Westlake saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elisa Riley, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Tri-Cities was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against Decatur, falling 14-3.

Tri-Cities' loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Westlake, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-7-1.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Westlake has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 7.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Tri-Cities struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Westlake took their win against Tri-Cities when the teams last played on Wednesday by a conclusive 9-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
