Baseball Recap: Sandpoint Find Success

After losing to Lake City the last time they met, Sandpoint decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Bulldogs skirted past the Timberwolves 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bulldogs have posted since April 11, 2024.

Mason Little was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Andrew Lehman was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Parker Reichart was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Sandpoint kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in four consecutive matchups.

Sandpoint's record now sits at 5-9. As for Lake City, with the loss, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-2.

Sandpoint wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 14-1 win against Lakeland on the 10th. As for Lake City, they have also already played their next game, a 10-8 defeat against Post Falls on the 12th.
