Softball Recap: Idea Timberwolves vs. DC International Dragons
Idea gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged the DC International Dragons out 13-12. Both teams can probably skip cardio this week after making that many trips around the bases.
For DC International's part, Maci Miller made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-3 with a home run, seven RBI, and two runs. Melissa Marquez Martinez was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3.
Having lost for the first time this season, DC International fell to 2-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Idea will take on Richard Wright Public Charter School at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Idea is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. As for DC International, they will head out on the road to square off against KIPP College Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in DC International's favor is that they have posted big run totals every time they've taken the field this season.
