Baseball Recap: Rock Canyon Takes a Loss

Rock Canyon fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Highlands Ranch on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 3-2. Jaguars fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Falcons since on Wednesday.

Will Wendeborn was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out nine batters over 7.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits.

On the hitting side, Thomas Shank was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Rock Canyon has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season. As for Highlands Ranch, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-8.
