Football Recap: Legacy Charter Comes Up Short

Legacy Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Oasis Christian Lions, falling 42-0.

Even if they lost, Legacy Charter's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. In that department, Wyatt Gorby was the leader with two.

Leading Oasis Christian to victory were Jordan Almonte and Nate Gross. Almonte rushed for 152 yards and four scores on only nine carries, while Gross rushed for 142 yards and a pair of TDs on only eight carries. Gross' longest rush was for an impressive 60 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Legacy Charter's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Oasis Christian, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Legacy Charter will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on City of Life Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th. As for Oasis Christian, they will square off against All Saints' Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lions will need to watch out since the Saints have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
