Football Recap: New Castle Gets the Win

New Castle won the last time they faced Jay County, and Luke Sherrell did his part to make sure it happened again. The Trojans took their match on Saturday with ease, bagging a 35-0 win over the Patriots thanks in part to Sherrell, who rushed for 110 yards and a pair of scores on only seven carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 66 yards.

The victory got New Castle back to even at 1-1. As for Jay County, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

New Castle and Jay County will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Trojans will face off against rival Pendleton Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Jay County is set to square off against their familiar foe Southern Wells at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
