Demarzion Graham Delivers Best Performance of Season

On Friday, Carbondale had to settle for second even though Demarzion Graham put up the best numbers he has all season. Graham rushed for 167 yards and five touchdowns. He is becoming a predictor of Carbondale's success: when he posts at least 80 rushing yards the team is 3-1 (and 0-4 when he doesn't).

If the past is any indication, Graham could be in store for another big game when he takes on Mascoutah on Friday. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Graham saw the Indians), he rushed for 151 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries, and also picked up 64 receiving yards.

Big Game from Winters As Marion Won 44-42

Marion's three-game losing streak is now nothing but a memory thanks in part to Blake Winters. Winters did his part (and then some), picking up 57 receiving yards and a touchdown, while also rushing for 45 yards for the 'W'. He got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 53 yards.

For the season, Winters has caught 3 touchdowns while averaging 29.8 receiving yards per game.

A Season-Best Effort from Ryian Calonne Leads Marion over Carbondale

Ryian Calonne produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Marion to the win on Friday. Calonne rushed for 92 yards and three touchdowns. Marion is 4-1 when Calonne posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise.

For the year, Calonne has run in 11 touchdowns while averaging 58 rushing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he had one rushing touchdown.

The win (which was Cahokia's sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-1. Mazyun and Cahokia will venture away from home to face off against Sycamore at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
