Softball Recap: Manzano Comes Up Short

If Manzano was riding high fresh off their 15-5 takedown of Albuquerque Academy on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Monarchs came up short against the Eldorado Eagles on Saturday, falling 18-1. The loss continues a trend for the Monarchs in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost five in a row.

Manzano saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sophia Rios, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run.

Manzano's defeat dropped their record down to 4-20. As for Eldorado, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-14.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Eagles beat Manzano by a score of 12-0 later that day.
