Basketball Recap: Ocracoke Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Ocracoke had lost five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 0-3 to make it six. They were dealt a 56-19 loss at the hands of the East Carteret Mariners. The Dolphins were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-8.

As for East Carteret, their win bumped their record up to 1-0. The victory continues a trend for them in their matchups with Ocracoke: they've now won four in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead East Carteret to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lyrik Oliver, who posted 15 points. Another player making a difference was Katie Goodwin, who had 12 points.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Ocracoke will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Holmes at 6:00 p.m. on December 2. As for East Carteret, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against West Carteret at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
