Basketball Recap: Groveton Takes a Loss

Groveton was the 65-51 winner over Hull-Daisetta when they last played one another back in January of 2018, but their luck changed this time around. The Groveton Indians fell 46-35 to the Hull-Daisetta Bobcats on Thursday.

Despite the defeat, Groveton saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Josiah Allen posted eight points and 13 boards. The dominant performance also gave Allen a new career-high in assists (three). Another player making a difference was George Jake Snyder, who earned nine points.

Even though they lost, Groveton was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Groveton's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Hull-Daisetta, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Groveton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 55-16 win against Goodrich on the 13th. As for Hull-Daisetta, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 55-21 defeat against Trinity on the 13th.
