Soccer Game Preview: Lehigh vs. Gateway

The Lehigh Lightning and the Gateway Eagles will compete for holiday cheer at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Tuesday, Lehigh might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting LaBelle an easy 5-2 victory. The Lightning haven't had much luck with the Cowboys/Cowgirls recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Junika Octa and Elena Disla scored both of Lehigh's goals, bringing their combined season tally to ten goals.

Meanwhile, Gateway came up short against Ida Baker on Tuesday and fell 4-2.

Gateway's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5-2. As for Lehigh, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.

Lehigh suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Gateway in their previous matchup back in January. Can Lehigh avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
