Chaparral had lost five straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 12-13 to make it six. They fell just short of the Vista Murrieta Broncos by a score of 7-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Broncos this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-0 on Monday.

Chaparral got a good showing from Colby Creamer, who tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Creamer has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Brody Harkey made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Jaiden Lopez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
As for Vista Murrieta, they have been performing well recently as they've won 15 of their last 19 matches. That somehow still isn't as good as their 21-5-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games.
On Vista Murrieta's side, Matthew Frankot looked comfortable as he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave Frankot a new career-high in strikeouts (three).
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Michael Hollis, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was RJ Holmes, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
While Chaparral had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
