            Basketball Recap: Cardington-Lincoln Pirates vs. North Union Wildcats        
        
		
        
        
             Cardington-Lincoln unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took  a  49-35 bruising from the North Union Wildcats on Friday. The Pirates haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
 Cardington-Lincoln's loss  came despite strong showings from  Jill Bertke and  Madison Caulkins.  Bertke  went 7 for 11 en route to 15 points plus five  rebounds, while  Caulkins  had five points in addition to five  blocks. Another player making a difference was  Abigail Hardwick, who  scored five points along with seven  rebounds and four  steals.
 Cardington-Lincoln has already played their next matchup,  a  39-30  loss against Colonel Crawford on the 23rd. As for North Union, they will square off against River Valley at 7:15  p.m.  on Tuesday.
