Soccer Recap: Seventy-First Comes Up Short

Seventy-First was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss. They came up short against the Cape Fear Colts, falling 10-0. While losing is never fun, Seventy-First can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 498th, while Cape Fear are ranked 143rd).

Seventy-First's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Cape Fear, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3-2 record this season.

Seventy-First has already played their next contest, a 7-0 loss against Jack Britt on the 22nd. As for Cape Fear, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, a 9-0 win against Douglas Byrd on the 22nd.
