Basketball Recap: Essex Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Essex can now relate to. They fell just short of the Mt. Mansfield Cougars by a score of 42-39 on Tuesday. The Hornets haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Essex's defeat dropped their record down to 6-17. As for Mt. Mansfield, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-10.

Essex does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mt. Mansfield, they will face off against St. Johnsbury Academy on Friday. One thing working in St. Johnsbury Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 12 matches.
