Softball Recap: Buckingham Charter Triumphs

Buckingham Charter pushed their score to 23 the last time they played Venture Academy, but on Monday they couldn't quite do it again. The Buckingham Charter Knights sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 victory over the Venture Academy Mustangs. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Knights also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2019.

The result came thanks to Haley Griffin's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 20 Ks.

At the plate, Buckingham Charter's win was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ava Santamaria, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Buckingham Charter now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Venture Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Buckingham Charter will welcome Delta at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Venture Academy, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will challenge Denair at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
