Football Recap: Chandler Piles Up the Points Against Cesar Chavez

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for Chandler on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew the Cesar Chavez Champions out of the water with a 49-7 final score. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-7.

It was another big night for Will Mencl, who threw for 321 yards and four TDs while completing 75% of his passes. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in each of the last four games he's played. Chandler's leading receiver Jai Jones was Mencl's top target yet again, picking up 86 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

The win (which was Chandler's sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.8 points over those games. As for Cesar Chavez, they dropped their record down to 1-7 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Chandler wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 28-22 win against Pinnacle on the 31st. As for Cesar Chavez, they have also already played their next game, a 63-0 loss against Hamilton on the 30th.
