Football Recap: Chandler Piles Up the Points Against Cesar Chavez

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for Chandler on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew the Cesar Chavez Champions out of the water with a 49-7 final score. With the Wolves ahead 35-7 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Will Mencl continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 321 yards and four TDs while completing 75% of his passes. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in each of the last four games he's played. Chandler's leading receiver Jai Jones was Mencl's top target yet again, picking up 86 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

The win (which was Chandler's sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-1. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30.8 points. As for Cesar Chavez, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Chandler is set to square off against their familiar foe Pinnacle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 906 yards in their previous games. Meanwhile, Cesar Chavez will face off against rival Hamilton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
