Volleyball Recap: Independence Comes Up Short

Independence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Santa Teresa Saints.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Santa Teresa scored at least 21 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-21, 18-25, 25-23.

Independence's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Santa Teresa, they pushed their record up to 11-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Independence will challenge Evergreen Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Santa Teresa, they will take on Gunn at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
