Softball Game Preview: Shrine Catholic Knights vs. Our Lady of the Lakes Lakers

Shrine Catholic is on a five-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Our Lady of the Lakes is on a five-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Knights will host the Lakers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Our Lady of the Lakes played against Detroit Cristo Rey on Saturday and won via forfeit.

Our Lady of the Lakes is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Shrine Catholic, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-6 record this season.

Shrine Catholic took their win against Our Lady of the Lakes when the teams last played two weeks ago by a conclusive 16-4 score. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Lakers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
