Basketball Recap: Holly Springs Makes It 16 in a Row at Home

Holly Springs entered their tilt with Panther Creek on Tuesday with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. They came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 69-68 W against the Panther Creek Catamounts. Given the Golden Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while the Catamounts are ranked 124th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the defeat, Panther Creek saw an underclassman step up: freshman Andre Richardson went 12 for 19 en route to 31 points and seven assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Richardson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Savion Mitchell, who posted six points in addition to six boards and five assists.

The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.8 points over those games. As for Panther Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 13-10.
