Softball Preview: Pioneer Mustangs vs. Del Mar Dons

Pioneer has gone a perfect 3-0 against Del Mar recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Mustangs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Dons at 4:00 p.m. Pioneer is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.

On Thursday, Pioneer needed a bit of extra time to put away Silver Creek. They had just enough and edged out the Raiders 6-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

Leilah Ortiz made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out ten batters over eight innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off ten hits. Ortiz was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one triple. That home run was her first of the season.
