Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gibbs). Everything went their way against the Scott Highlanders on Tuesday as they made off with a 27-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won 18 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Gibbs got a massive performance out of Macie Wolfe, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave Wolfe a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Victoria Grubbs, who went 4-for-5 with five RBI, two doubles, and one triple.
Gibbs was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .619. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Gibbs' win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 27-3. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.8 runs over those games. As for Scott, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.
