Recap: Doddridge County Bulldogs vs. Webster County Highlanders
The Doddridge County Bulldogs put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They enjoyed a cozy 58-43 win over Webster County. That's another feather in the cap for Doddridge County, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Doddridge County was led to victory by Aleigh Cheeseman and Payton Trent. Cheeseman scored 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Trent scored 16 points along with nine rebounds. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Tenley Paugh, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.
Doddridge County's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.7 points per game. As for Webster County, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Doddridge County will square off against Calhoun at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Calhoun comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Webster County, they will head out on the road to face off against Pocahontas County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
