Soccer Game Preview: Peachtree Ridge vs. Duluth

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Peachtree Ridge take on Duluth at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Peachtree Ridge has given up an average of 4.7 goals per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Peachtree Ridge lost 9-1 to Cherokee Bluff on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Peachtree Ridge can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 299th, while Cherokee Bluff are ranked 96th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Duluth). They put the hurt on Shiloh with a sharp 11-3 victory on Tuesday. The game was close at halftime, but Duluth turned on the heat in the second half with eight goals.

The win made it two in a row for Duluth and bumps their season record up to 8-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those two matchups. As for Peachtree Ridge, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.

Peachtree Ridge couldn't quite get it done against Duluth in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Lions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
