Basketball Game Preview: Pierce Bears vs. Colusa RedHawks

The Pierce Bears will head out to face off against the Colusa RedHawks at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Pierce is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.1 points per game this season.

Pierce is likely headed into the contest with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Paradise on Tuesday. Pierce took a 47-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Paradise.

Pierce's loss came about despite a quality game from Gavin Guynn, who posted 21 points and seven rebounds. That's the most points Guynn has posted since back in December of 2024.

Meanwhile, Colusa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 56-50 heartbreaker at the hands of East Nicolaus.

Pierce has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.6 points per game. As for Colusa, their loss dropped their record down to 5-11.

Pierce strolled past Colusa when the teams last played back in December of 2024 by a score of 67-52. Will Pierce repeat their success, or does Colusa have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
