Baseball Recap: Wednesday's Win Is Snow Canyon's Eighth in Last Nine Outings

Snow Canyon had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt Pine View on Wednesday. The Warriors were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the Panthers. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Ledger Shipp and Trey Vaughn did most of the damage at the plate: Shipp scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Vaughn went 3-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. What's more, Vaughn posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March. Another player making a difference was Dewy Gibb, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Snow Canyon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pine View only posted a batting average of .130.

Snow Canyon has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Pine View, they dropped their record down to 10-6-1 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Snow Canyon will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Panthers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
