Softball Game Preview: BCLUW Comets vs. Dunkerton Raiders

The BCLUW Comets will head out to square off against the Dunkerton Raiders at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. BCLUW is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.

On Monday, BCLUW narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Riceville 5-4.

Meanwhile, Dunkerton hadn't done well against North Tama recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Raiders walked away with a 7-4 win over the Redhawks.

BCLUW's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Dunkerton, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-10.

BCLUW took their win against Dunkerton when the teams last played back in June of 2024 by a conclusive 12-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Comets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
