Football Recap: South Rowan Takes a Loss

South Rowan extended their losing streak to six on Friday, dropping them down to 3-6. They lost 33-12 to the East Rowan Mustangs. The Raiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Although South Rowan took the loss, they still got scores from Nick Woolf Jr. and Trystin Chadwick.

As for East Rowan, their win bumped their record up to 4-5. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their seven-point performance the matchup before.

Jaxon Lyons had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 246 yards and one touchdown while picking up 9.1 yards per carry. Those 246 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. South Rowan is set to challenge their familiar foe Carson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Woolf Jr. and Damo'N Broussard. Meanwhile, East Rowan will square off against rival Concord at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
