Baseball Recap: Lucerne Valley Takes a Loss

Lucerne Valley lost against Academy of Careers & Exploration last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Lucerne Valley came up short against Academy of Careers & Exploration, falling 20-3. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lucerne Valley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jonathon Gonzalez, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one double. That double marked the first that Gonzalez hit this season. Another was Raul Gonzalez, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Lucerne Valley now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Academy of Careers & Exploration, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lucerne Valley will venture away from home to face off against Silver Valley at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Academy of Careers & Exploration, they will head out to square off against Cate at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
