Volleyball Recap: Malcolm Has No Trouble Against Wahoo

After losing to Wahoo the last time they met, Malcolm decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Clippers put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 3-0 victory on Tuesday.

While Malcolm won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-13, 28-26.

Their offense was headlined by Halle Dolliver and Payton Dolliver, who picked up 11 kills apiece. They got some help from Allie Blair and her 33 assists. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

When it comes to explaining why Wahoo lost, don't look at Elena Estudillo. Despite the final result, she had 17 digs and three aces. Estudillo has been hot, having posted 14 or more digs the last five times she's played.

Malcolm is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Wahoo, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Malcolm will challenge North Bend Central on Thursday. As for Wahoo, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Nebraska City on the 14th.
