Recap: Jefferson Independent Day Cavaliers vs. Bronaugh Wildcats

The Jefferson Independent Day Cavaliers won the last time they faced the Bronaugh Wildcats, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Jefferson Independent Day secured a 52-47 W over Bronaugh.

Bronaugh lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jada Brundridge, who scored 12 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Gretchen Banes, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.

Even though they lost, Bronaugh smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. This was only their ninth loss (out of 11 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.

Jefferson Independent Day has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Bronaugh, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jefferson Independent Day will take on Northeast Vernon County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bronaugh, Bronaugh and Sheldon will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Missouri (Sheldon is ranked 449th, while Bronaugh is ranked 468th).
