Hays had already won six in a row and they went ahead and made it seven on Thursday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Lakin Broncs. The Indians have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Broncs, too.

While Hays won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 29-27, 25-15.

Zoe Winter paced Hays' offense, picking up ten kills. Winter got some help from Brooke Bieker and her 15 assists. Sylvia Johnson controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Hays' victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Lakin, they moved to 6-2 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Hays wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against Manhattan on the 16th. As for Lakin, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Dodge City on the 11th.
