Baseball Game Preview: Grand Saline Indians vs. Quitman Bulldogs

For the second straight game, Grand Saline will face off against Quitman. The Indians will face off against the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Grand Saline took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Quitman 4-2. The win continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won five in a row.

For Quitman's part, Juan Rameriz made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Rameriz has become a key player for the Bulldogs: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 4-15-1 otherwise.

Grand Saline pushed their record up to 17-8 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Quitman, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-16-1.
