Football Recap: Union County Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Union County extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 1-7. They took a blow against the Anderson County Mavericks, falling 84-20. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 305th, while the Mavericks are ranked 44th).

Union County's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaxson Hayes, who picked up 95 receiving yards and three touchdowns. The Patriots also got help from Bryton Beeler, who showed off his sure hands for 123 receiving yards.

As for Anderson County, their win bumped their record up to 5-2. The result was nothing new for the Mavericks, who have now won five matchups by 20 points or more so far this season.

Jd Gillum went supernova, throwing for 391 yards and six TDs while completing 77.8% of his passes. Brayden Sharpe also deserves some recognition as he hauled in his first receiving touchdown of the season.
