While Columbus put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Southridge. The Columbus Explorers walked away with a 4-0 victory over the Southridge Spartans. The win continues a trend for the Explorers in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won four in a row.

Michael Say tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over 6.1 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Matthew Fernandez, who went 1-for-2 with one home run. Mario Magana was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-4.

Columbus' victory bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Southridge, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Columbus will take on Mater Lakes Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Southridge, they will square off against Florida Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
