Basketball Game Preview: Highlands Scots vs. Mesa Verde Mavericks

The Highlands Scots are taking a road trip to take on the Mesa Verde Mavericks at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Highlands fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Golden Sierra on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Grizzlies by a score of 51-48. The Scots' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Mesa Verde took their match on Monday with ease, bagging a 53-24 victory over San Juan.

Highlands' loss dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Mesa Verde, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-15 record this season.

Highlands barely slipped by Mesa Verde when the teams last played on January 7th, winning 47-46. The rematch might be a little tougher for Highlands since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
